Mattea di Carlo is born 16 February 1864 in Corleone and baptized the next day. She is the daughter of Vincenzo di Carlo and Salvatrice Paternostro. Her godmother is Biagia Salemi, who is unmarried.[1] Mattea is named after her paternal grandmother.
Mattea immigrates with her married sister's family.
